What does climate-resilient living mean?
Climate-resilient living means adapting homes to changing climatic pressures. Summer heat protection aims to limit overheating and keep homes comfortable and liveable during hot periods.
Which measures work together?
Shading, suitable building characteristics, fewer unnecessary indoor heat sources and ventilation during cooler periods complement one another. Vienna’s heat guide describes this combined approach. Each measure therefore needs to be considered in the context of the home.
Why is accessibility part of our approach?
We want to make climate adaptation part of everyday life: how can homes remain liveable in summer, and how can cooling become accessible to more people? For RCS, home comfort and retrofit potential belong together.
What contribution does RCS aim to make?
We develop solutions that make natural cooling resources accessible to existing buildings. Our goal is greater quality of life with lower energy demand. Based in Vienna, we welcome dialogue with households, housing organisations and partners interested in shaping climate-resilient living.
